भारत में पहले के समय में भी हुक्का-चिल्लम, बीड़ी, खैनी आदि के द्वारा लोग नशा करते रहे हैं, किन्तु आज स्थिति कहीं ज्यादा विस्फोटक हो चुकी है।
अब तो जमाना एडवांस हो गया है और एडवांस हो गए हैं नशे करने के तरीके! बीड़ी की जगह सिगरेट ने ले ली है तो हुक्का और चिल्लम की जगह स्मैक, ड्रग्स ने, और खैनी बन गया है गुटखा!
और वही अगर बात करे तो शराब सब नशो का राजा बनकर बैठा है और हर घर पर राज कर रहा है। जो शराब (राजा) चाहता है ऐसा ही हर घर पर होता है - जिस घर पर कोई व्यक्ति शराब का सेवन करता है।
शराब कहूं तो हर नई पुरानी पीडी की सबसे पहली पसंद होती है - ऐसा हम इसीलिए कह रहे है - क्यूंकि, छोटा या बड़ा, जन्मदिन या शादी का कोई भी ऐसा समारोह होता है - वहां पर जब तक शराब (राजा) ना पी जाए या यूं कहे कि बांटी ना जाए - वो समारोह सम्पूर्ण ही नहीं माना जाता।
और अगर बात करू - मोहल्लों, रास्तों, और चाय की दुकानों इतीयदि का राजा तो - सिगरेट को ही माना जयेगा।
मेरे साथियों - नशा देश और विदेश - या यूं कहे सम्पूर्ण दुनिया के लिए एक बहुत बड़ी चुनौती बनके खडा है।
मै जितना अपने इस लेख को बड़ा करना चाहूं ये विषय उतना ही मुझे और आपको अज्ञा देता जाएगा।
इसीलिए अंत में मेरी यानी Er Suraj Mottan की आप सभी अनुभवी और अच्छे विचारकों से बिनती है कि - आओ मिलकर नशा मुक्त समाज बनाने के लिए - प्रितज्ञा ले-

In India, people have been intoxicated through hookah-chillam, bidi, khaini etc. even in earlier times, but today the situation has become more explosive.
Now the time has become advanced and the methods of getting drunk have become advanced. If cigarettes have replaced beedis, then hookah and chillum have been replaced by smacks, drugs, and khaini has become gutkha.
And if he talks, then liquor is sitting as the king of all drugs and is ruling every house. The one who wants liquor (king) is like this at every house - the house where a person consumes alcohol.
To say alcohol is the first choice of every new old generations - this is why we are saying - because small or big, birthday or any wedding ceremony is there - until the wine (king) is drunk or Like this, do not divide it - that ceremony is not considered complete.
And if I talk - the king of mohallas, paths, and tea shops, etc. - cigarettes will be considered.
My friends - drug addiction has stood as a big challenge for the whole world, or abroad.
